This beautiful and simple musical instrument is a slim, 2-sided frame drum that has many steel marvels inside to produce soft and melodious sounds like ocean waves as it rolls around, or hit it with the mallet. The drum is made of goat skin and has many Steel balls inside to strike each other. To add the beauty of the drum it has a beautiful painting of Lord Shiva and his wife Parvati. The drums are available in 5 different sizes (14” diameter, 16” diameter, 20” diameter and 22 inch diameter) and prices are varying according to the size. The paintings of the drums are available in assortment (Mandala, Buddha, Ganesh, Shiva, symbols of eight auspicious sign etc.) on one side and other side is always plain.
The diameter of this Chhal Baja is approx. 18 inch and thickness 2 inch and diameter is approx 13 inch. Actual weight of this Waves drum is approx 800 grams but the weight mentioned below is calculated for the volume based shipping. Since the product is entirely hand made No two are alike, hence sizes and painting can also be slightly different each other.
