  1. Boe Bansuri (murali)

    Bansuri, the flute is a parallel hollow musical instrument that is related with Lord Krishna, the master player of Bansuri. Generally Bansuri is made of bamboo but we offer very special hand crafted wooden one with artistic decoration in it. Ghor bansuri is one of the longest and special one that has folding option as well. This Bansuri produces high quality melodious sound hence it is used especially on the marriage ceremonies in the typical JYAPU community in the Kathmandu Valley. This kind of very special and Bansuri is called MURALI in Nepal and produced in limited numbers and available in special orders. The diameter of this dark wooden color Boe Bansuri is 1 inch and length is approx 11 inches.   2. Chhal Baja, the Waves drum

    This beautiful and simple musical instrument is a slim, 2-sided frame drum that has many steel marvels inside to produce soft and melodious sounds like ocean waves as it rolls around, or hit it with the mallet. The drum is made of goat skin and has many Steel balls inside to strike each other. To add the beauty of the drum it has a beautiful painting of Lord Shiva and his wife Parvati. The drums are available in 5 different sizes (14” diameter, 16” diameter, 20” diameter and 22 inch diameter) and prices are varying according to the size. The paintings of the drums are available in assortment (Mandala, Buddha, Ganesh, Shiva, symbols of eight auspicious sign etc.) on one side and other side is always plain.

    ''Dhyangro'' is a must have musical instrument for the shamanic traditions and have been incorporated into the Buddhist ceremonies of Nepal and Tibet. Dhyangro have a similar shape with Tibetan Na drum those are also carved on the handle and these are played with a stick called “GAJO”. Overall length approx. 26 inch, thickness 4 inch and diameter is approx 13 inch.     The Sarangi is one of the oldest popular traditional Nepali musical instruments. It consists of squat, truncated body with a sound board of goat skin. It has three main playing strings of heavy gut. These are the ones which are bowed. Because of its flexible tuning ability and its ability to produce a large palette of tonal colour and emotional nuance, Sarangi is revered for its uncanny capacity to imitate the timbre and inflections of the human voice as well as for the intensity of emotional expression to which it lends itself.
    This classical Sarangi is made of single piece of special wood and carved beautiful image of Lord Buddha. It is approximately 22inches in length and 7 inches in width. It has three melody strings which are usually made of gut and around thirty-five metal sympathetic strings which provide a bright echo.     The Hindu religious musical drum “DAMARU” has very strong cultural associations. It is strongly associated with the God Shiva and his followers “SADHUS”. The DAMARU appears to be the last common representative of a family of hour-glass drums. It has a brass resonator of 4 inches in length and 3.5 inches in diameter. There are two drumheads on each side of the resonator which are laced together with cord. Near the centre of the lacing are two loose knotted cords. The knots on each end strike both heads to produce a rattling sound. This is affected by rotating the drum rapidly in alternating directions.
